Building a Career in Decorative Painting

This 5 day class is an intense week of business and faux finishing techniques to help your business grow. We limit class size allowing better one-on-one training. Smaller classes give better student-teacher relationships. We stand behind you after your classes for support and advice. You will take home some great samples for your portfolio. We cover high end Italian Finishes as well as some basic Bread and Butter Finishes including: Venetian Plaster, European Style Stone, Tile and Brick, Crackle, Basic Marble, Marmorino, Rust, Patinas, Baroque™, Desire™, Metallic Paints, Leather, Distressed Frottage™ Pulloff , Texture Effects™, Metallic Venetian Plasters and more. This class will NOT teach a product line. It is technique and business orientated. We cover working with clients and designers, organization, pricing, contracts, advertising, portfolios and more! You'll leave this class confident to take your business to the next level. We emphasize color theory, since color can make or break your finishing abilities.

Time: Monday through Friday 8:30 - 2:30 daily. Lunch and business manual supplied.

It's All About Color

Learning to see, choose, mix and tweak colors is the most important part of every faux finishers job. Knowing and seeing color can make or break your decorative painting career. Let us help you take the worry out of making your own colors, and help you choose colors with confidence. We'll be working with color theory in practical applications not just by the book. Color can take your career to a higher level.

SkimStone™ Class

The decorative alternative for concrete floors and Formica Countertops

Turn ordinary concrete into a beautiful design element with this hybridized Portland cement. We'll learn how to add unique elements through the use of stencils, taping and mica powders.

Time: 8:30 - 2:30, Lunch Included.

SkimStone™ Preferred Installer

The perfect answer to concrete floors and Formica Countertops!

In this class you'll learn all the basics and the decorative opportunities available to you, including the use of Modello's. The class curriculum has been set by the manufacturer of SkimStone™. Upon completion of this class, you will be authorized to advertise that you have received certified training. Your name will be listed on the SkimStone™ website as a preferred installer.

Time: 8:30 - 2:30, Lunch Included.

Workshop Fee: $650.00   A $200 nonrefundable deposit required at time of registration. (Partner ½ Price Policy)

Choose your Finish

By request we are offering personalized, private classes for advanced and professional finishes. Reserve a 6 hour daytime slot for you, or you and a couple of your friends/business partners. We'll plan the class around the finish or finishes that you want to learn. Class fee will be determined by the finish and products needed to complete the class. Dry time may not allow some finishes be completed in this time slot. Please call for date availability.

Workshop Fee: $500 for 1 student, $400 @ 2 -3 students and $300 @ 4-6. Class fees may vary. ($300 deposit required for prepping private class boards.)

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (Date to be determined.)

Adicolor Product Knowledge Class

Product knowledge gives anyone from the do-it-yourselfer to professionals, the retailer to the teacher an overview of the Adicolor products. All students and dealers will leave the 3 day class with a broad knowledge on Adicolor's product line as well as a mini portfolio of sample boards and all the literature needed. The entire line including Venetian plasters (lime and synthetic), topcoats, primers, glazes, texture products, metallic paints and sealers will be covered.

Workshop Fee: $600 per person ($200 non refundable deposit; partner policy does not apply.)

Advanced & Professional Classes require a 2 week cancellation notice. With a 2 week notice the deposit will be applied to another class. Deposit is due at the time of registration. Rescheduling will only be allowed one time. These classes require several weeks of preparation and planning. Your held spot may not be able to be filled with late cancellation notice since most contractors schedules are already booked by then. Please dress comfortably in painting attire. Feel free to bring your portfolio and or photos. Classes are casual atmosphere. We are located close to numerous restaurants, motels, shopping and Lambeau Field. Your business partner or spouse may come to the class for 1/2 the price to observe and participate in discussions. They will not take home sample boards. A non refundable deposit is due at registration, balance is due the date class begins
